You had me at "wall of Starr Hill tap handles!" We stopped by at 2pm and scored a case of Little Red Roostarr Coffee Stout for the holidays (with a handy discount) and brewer / barkeep Donovan is a rock star who knows her beers (and whiskies too) and answered my questions about their beers (wide-ranging and more on the way), live music (sometimes), and outdoor seating (plenty but too cold today). I tried a sample of the movie-inspired Holiday Road Eggnog Cream Ale and snagged a four-pack of this one too. It hits the perfect balance of eggnog sweetness and crisp ale flavor, and at nearly 10% ABV, it's bound to supercharge your holiday spirit. I keep the Snow Blind Doppelbock Lager in my party fridge year-round (thanks to Food Lion); don't wait for a blizzard to try this delicious brew. I'll have to visit again to taste the Butter Beer Slushie. We came about 45 minutes to check this place out (shout out to my DD) and it was well worth the ride. The absolute best place. Starr Hill in Roanoke is the friendliest best brewery in town. Since hiring Shannon things have totally turned around for the better. Shannon, Donovan, Rafe and George are the best of the best staff anywhere, they are like friends you have always had. Everytime you walk in they call you by name and make you feel so very welcome. Matter of fact I was in there the other day, sitting alone and was invited to join a few others at the bar. After making new friends I left several hours and lots of beer later, had a blast and made new friends. There is always something for everyone and you don’t have to do it all. Pick and choose what you want, you are never excluded. Not everything is for all but so much variety, never a dull moment. Beer and company is the best in town. It’s a “Place where everyone knows your name” just like to show “Cheers”. It will always be my go to community place to unwind. Thanks for ALWAYS making things so much fun.
